The Christian Year – We are now in the season of After Epiphany, a season of ordinary time (meaning that there is no particular emphasis). It is of variable length, comprising four to eight Sundays, depending on whether Easter Sunday is “early” or “late”. This year, it includes seven Sundays, since Easter is relatively late. The final Sunday of the season is Transfiguration Sunday, which, this year, falls in February. The seasonal color is green.

Annual Report – we have begun preparing the 2022 Annual Report. This forms a legal document recording the life of our congregation. If you are a person on a committee responsible for reporting, NOW is the time to begin working on the reports. Reports should be sent to Lisa Sneesby. Deadline is Feb. 12, 2023. Thank you for your care in recording the work we do together in Jesus’ name.

Congregations in Transition – John Zondag sent out a document on Dec 29, 2022 regarding congregational transitions. Please find and read this document. It will be discussed at the Annual Meeting.

Mission Moment In many small rural communities in Ghana, lay preachers, evangelists and catechists play a crucial role. Under the direction of a district minister, who has many congregations under their care, lay leaders provide much-needed spiritual leadership. While they share a deep commitment to their call to ministry and service in the church, many have not received formal theological training. To equip these lay leaders with helpful tools for effective ministry, the Presbyterian Church of Ghana established three Lay Training Centres (Tamale, Ramseyer and Nsaba), which receive support through Presbyterians Sharing.
