THE 2ND SUNDAY IN LENT

28 February 2021

Services by Zoom – Our live services by Zoom at 10:30 a.m. every Sunday seem to be going well, so we’ll continue doing that for the time being.  Nineteen people participated in our live service last Sunday.  It turned out to take a lot less time to upload the Zoom service to YouTube than it did for the services that John used to record on his laptop, so if that continues to be the case, they will should available for viewing by 1:00 p.m. from now on.

There is talk of the restrictions on worship attendance potentially being eased further, beginning next weekend.  The Session will wait to hear the official word from the provincial government, and then make a decision on whether and when to resume in-person services.

John sends out the Zoom link by e-mail each Saturday evening.  The link is the same every week, so you can copy and paste it into a Word document, if you wish, so that you always have it handy.  John will continue e-mailing out the YouTube link (which is different every week) and a written service script each Sunday.

The readers today are Lalaine and Ruth BuanCharlie Clifford is leading the Prayers of the People today.

THE 1ST SUNDAY IN LENT

Services by Zoom – We have been holding our Sunday services live, by Zoom, at 10:30 a.m., for the past three weeks now, with approximately 15 people joining in each week, so far.  We thank Raymond Reichelt for hosting the services, Margaret McNutt-Reichelt for playing the hymns, and Debbi Miles for typing the hymn texts that Raymond shows on the screen.  Due to copyright laws, we can use only hymns that are in the public domain; so, for the time being, we’re singing the “oldies” only.  John sends out the Zoom link by e-mail each Saturday evening.  The link is the same every week, by the way, so you can copy and paste it into a Word document, if you wish, so that you always have it handy.

Beginning today, a recording of the service by Zoom will be uploaded to YouTube each week, for those who are not able to join the service in real time.  Unfortunately, though, it won’t be available for viewing until the afternoon, since it takes a good two hours to upload.  Once uploaded, it can be viewed at any time during the week.  John will continue e-mailing out the YouTube link and a written service script each Sunday.

The readers today are Philip and Margaret Dunn.
