Prayer and Praise Corner:

“Open wide your mouth and I will fill it.” Psalm 81:10

“If any one chooses to do God’s will, he will find out whether my teaching comes from God.” John 7:17

How vast are the possibilities of prayer! It lays its hand on God Almighty and moves Him to do what He would not otherwise do if prayer were not offered.

Prayer is a wonderful power placed by God in the hands of His people, which may be used to accomplish great purposes and to achieve unusual results. Prayer reaches to everything, taking in all things great and small that are promised by God to His children.

The records of achievements of prayer are encouraging to faith. Prayer is no untried theory. Prayer is a divine arrangement from God; designed for the benefit of mankind, intended as a means for furthering the interests of His cause on earth, and carrying out His gracious purposes in redemption and providence. Prayer proves itself. It is capable of proving its virtue through those who pray. Prayer needs no proof other than its accomplishments.

If any man wants to know the virtue of prayer, if he wants to know what it can achieve, let him pray. Let him put prayer to the test.

Prayer requests: Pray for our church families who are grieving that they will find peace in The Source. Pray that we will be open to and that God will use us as vessels to bring about His peace. Thank God that He is the Shepherd, the Forgiver, the Potter, the Cleanser, the Redeemer and most of all the Savior. Pray that we will become better listeners as we seek to spread His Word.

Prayer: Oh Father, I thank You for the wonderful power of prayer that You have placed in our hands. I thank You that prayer is no untried theory. It is a divine arrangement from You for our benefit, and for carrying out Your plans on earth for Your glory. Lord, teach me to pray. Amen.

Prayer and Praise Corner:

But those who hope in the Lord, they will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition with Thanksgiving present your requests to God. Philippians 4:6

When we pray, “Give us this day our daily bread”, we are, in a measure, shutting tomorrow out of our prayer. We do not live in tomorrow but in today. We do not seek tomorrow’s grace or tomorrow’s bread. They strive best, and get most out of life, who live in the living present. They pray best who pray for today’s needs, not tomorrow’s, which may render our prayers unnecessary and redundant by not existing at all!

True prayers are born of present trials and present needs. Bread, for today, is bread enough. Bread given for today is the strongest sort of pledge, that there will be bread tomorrow. Victory today, is the assurance of victory tomorrow. Our prayers need to be focused upon the present. We must trust God today, and leave tomorrow entirely with Him. The present is ours; the future belongs to God. Prayer is the task and duty of each recurring day – daily prayer for daily needs. So leave tomorrow, with its cares, its needs, its troubles, in God’s hands. There is no storing tomorrow’s grace or tomorrow’s praying; neither is there any laying- up of today’s grace, to meet tomorrow’s necessities. We cannot have tomorrow’s grace, we can’t cannot eat tomorrow’s bread, we cannot do tomorrow’s praying, today.

Prayer Requests: Thank God for the bounty we experience in our lives. Ask for forgiveness for when we are faultfinders and ask for guidance that we become encouragers. Pray for our church finances, that we may be able to meet our financial obligations in a timely fashion. Pray for our university students that are looking for work. Pray for our daily vacation Bible school.

Prayer: Our Father which art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come Thy will be done on earth, as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory forever. Amen.

Prayer and Praise Corner: “Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28 No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. 1 Corinthians 10:13 The most natural thing to do is to carry your troubles to the Lord and seek grace, patience and submission there. How natural and reasonable for the oppressed, broken, bruised soul to bow low and seek the face of God! Unfortunately, trouble does not always drive people to God in prayer. It is sad when a person does not know how to pray when troubles discourage him. Blessed is the man who is driven by trouble to his knees in prayer! Trouble and prayer are closely related to each other. Prayer is of great value to trouble. Trouble often drives people to God in prayer, while prayer is but the voice of people in trouble. There is great value in prayer in times of trouble. Prayer often delivers one from trouble and, more often, gives strength to bear trouble, ministers comfort in trouble, and creates patience in the midst of trouble. Wise is the person who knows his True Source of strength and who doesn’t fail to pray in times of trouble. Prayer Requests: Thank God for all those who volunteer in the work of the church. Pray for those that attend the soup kitchen, that they might find more than physical sustenance. Praise God for the physical and emotional peace we experience. Pray for the victims of the flood. Prayer:  Almighty God, I carry all my worries and burdens to You. I know that You will comfort me and give me rest. Thank you, God, for delivering me in times of trouble. I know that there is power and great value in prayer, I praise Your name. Amen.

         Prayer and Praise Corner:

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? Romans 8:35

“He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.” Matthew 5:45

What an infinite variety there is in the troubles of life! No two people have the same troubles in a certain area. God deals with no two of His children in the same way.

Just as God varies His treatment of His children, so trouble is varied. God does not repeat Himself; He does not have one pattern that He uses for everyone. He deals with every child individually, according to his or her specific situation.

As trouble is not sinful in itself, neither is it the evidence of sin. Good and bad alike experience trouble. Trouble is no evidence whatsoever of divine displeasure. Numerous Scripture verses contradict such an idea.

Job is an example of where God bore explicit testimony to His deep piety, and yet permitted Satan to afflict Job beyond any other man for wise and beneficial purposes. Trouble has no power in itself to interfere with the relationship of a saint to God.

Prayer Requests: Confess the pride of possessions and pray that they will not become the  most important thing in your life. Pray for the victims and the families of the victims of the Boston bombings. Praise God for His faithfulness. Thank God for His ever presence in our lives.

Prayer: Lord, troubles come in various shapes and sizes. Thank you for treating each of your children in a unique and special way. I know that trouble has no power to interfere with my relationship with you. For that, I thank you. Amen.
