Prayer and Praise Corner

Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7 So what shall I do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my mind; I will sing with my spirit, but I will also sing with my mind. 1Corinthians14:15

Prayer enables us to carry all our worries to God in prayer and if we doubt when we pray we upset our hearts unnecessarily.

How much needless care would we save ourselves if we just believed in prayer as the means of relieving those cares, and would learn the happy art of casting all our cares in prayer upon God, who cares for us!

Disbelief that God is concerned about even the smallest affairs that affect our happiness and comfort limits the Holy One and makes our lives altogether devoid of real happiness.

The church works at religion with the order, precision, and force of real machinery. But too often it works with the heartlessness of the machine. We pray without sincerity and we sing without true joy in our hearts. We have music without the praise of God being in it or near it. We go to church by habit and come home all too gladly when the benediction is pronounced. We say our prayers by rote, and we are not sorry when the Amen is uttered.

Devote your whole heart to God and His church, and see the results of machinery inspired by Christ.

Prayer requests: Pray that the power of the Holy Spirit may so work Christ’s love in each of us that the world may see and know God’s love in us. Pray that the world might see the significant of Palm/ Passion/ Sunday and the week that follows. Pray for journeying mercies for our families traveling this Spring break.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I cast all my anxieties on You today, for You care about the smallest affairs of my life. Father, I don’t want to work for You with the heartlessness of machinery. Please inspire my heart in all that I do for Your glory. Thank You for loving me. Amen.

Comfort Dolls

Since October 2009, many members and friends of the congregation have been knitting or crocheting “Comfort Dolls” which are included with medical supplies shipped to Africa by ICROSS CANADA.

This organization uses these little knitted dolls as packing material, instead of bubble wrap or packing peanuts, to protect delicate vials of HIV/Aids drugs and medical instruments. Once the medical supplies are unpacked, the “comfort dolls” are distributed to the children in the community, most of whom are orphans of Aids victims.  To date, our congregation has shipped 1366 dolls which have brought smiles and comfort to children in Africa as well as Haiti.

In addition to the dolls, we have also knit 352 caps for newborns. These infant caps have also been shipped to ICROSS CANADA for distribution.

If you would like to participate in this project, patterns are available at the church, or e-mail us at and the pattern will be emailed to you.
